The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien

Very well written. I enjoyed the literary creativity that comes with the short-story-style chapters. The way O’Brien plays with the idea of truth is particularly interesting.

War is a heavy topic, and The Things They Carried conveys its weight without getting particularly gruesome. I feel grateful to have (thus far) been spared the trauma of experiencing war first-hand.
