How the García Girls Lost Their Accents by Julia Alvarez

I liked this book, but I don’t have a lot to say about it. The prose is delightful. The stories are interesting. Between the reverse chronological order, the lack of an overarching plot, and the alternating perspectives, it was a different experience than most novels. The novel didn’t particularly resonate with me – perhaps because I don’t feel like the García girls and I have much in common – but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
