Here’s what I’ve been up to / thinking about lately:
- Trying to walk more. I’ve been having moderate success taking a few (ideally three, usually one or two) short breaks throughout the work day to walk around the block. I’m bad at pausing work, though.
- Starting to get back in the habit of working outside. I’ve been inside most of the last couple months. I’d like to blame it on the cold weather, but even on the nicer days I’ve struggled to muster the energy to head outdoors.
- Doing decently at getting up early and knocking out some to-dos or reading before the kids get up. I miss reading before bed but love not getting woken up by my children. And lots of tasks that I’ve been staring at for months are finally getting done. Time will tell if the momentum lasts.
- Spending too much time distracted by random writing online. It’s amazing how much our brains, or at least mine, crave novelty.
- Enjoying journaling every night. My BYOK came recently, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how nice it is to have a dedicated device for my journaling. (Hoping to publish a full review of the thing once I’ve had it a bit longer.)
- Doing a bit of planning for a garden but getting overwhelmed easily. I don’t have much space in my life for new commitments right now.
